Privacy policy

Welcome to JoinTrip (“the site”, jointripgo.com, available in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English and Japanese). We take your privacy seriously; this policy explains how the site handles data. By using the site you agree to it.

1. Your trips stay in your browser

Trips, saved items, stickers, exchange-rate settings, packing ticks and bill-split entries are stored in your browser’s local storage. They are never uploaded to our servers and we cannot read them. Your language preference is also stored only in your browser. If you clear browsing data or change browser or device, the data won’t follow you — use “Export backup”.

2. Share links and downloaded files

When you copy a share link, the trip is encoded in the part of the URL after “#”. Under web protocols this fragment isn’t sent to the server, but anyone with the link can see the full trip (including booking references or phone numbers you entered), so check before sharing.

3. Email contact

The site has no online forms. If you email readytoret@gmail.com, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply and improve the site — we never sell or pass them on. Please don’t send ID numbers, passwords or card numbers. You can ask us to delete our correspondence at any time (see section 8).

4. Automatically collected information

Our hosting provider may keep standard access logs (such as IP address, browser type, time and pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.

5. Cookies and third-party services

• Google AdSense (ads): ad spaces are reserved and Google ads may run in future. If enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Manage personalised ads at Google Ads Settings, and see how Google uses data from partner sites.
• Google Analytics: we may use aggregated analytics to understand overall usage and improve content.
• Affiliate links: some links (such as hotel or ticket platforms) may be affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Destination sites have their own privacy policies.
• Exchange-rate data: your browser contacts a third-party rate service only when you press “Update reference rates”.
• Maps and external links: the “🧭” links open Google Maps, governed by Google’s privacy policy.

You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may be affected.

6. Security

We use reasonable measures such as HTTPS, but no internet transmission is completely secure.

7. Children

The site isn’t designed for children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data.

8. Your rights

You may ask to access, copy, correct or delete personal data you’ve given us, or ask us to stop using it. Email readytoret@gmail.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as features or laws change; updates will be posted here with a new date. If language versions differ, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
